ASU got a good old fashioned
butt whipping tonight,
losing 43-21 to Oregon in Tempe, this loss drops the Devils to 5-2 on the season. ASU went up 7-0 early, after that it was basically
all Ducks. It really wasn't as close as the score indicates either, Oregon really eased up in the second half. I knew it was going to be a long night when
Will Sutton was
injured on the first play of the game for the Devils. Sutton has been their best player this year, their defense had no chance without him
wreaking havoc in the middle of the field. The Ducks play at such a fast pace and have so many great athletes, the Devils couldn't keep up, their defense just wore out. I guess it was a good measuring stick game for
Todd Graham.
Observations:
- I can envision a Alabama vs Oregon NCAA Championship game.
- ASU's lack of depth was very apparent tonight.
- Easily Taylor Kelly's worst game as starting QB. Growing pains were bound to happen.
- I didn't see any quit in Brandon Magee or D.J. Foster.
- Props to Anthony Jones for his pic-6.
- I wouldn't mind seeing Chip Kelly roaming an NFL sideline next year.
- ASU had 4 turnovers, up til now, turnovers hadn't been an issue in Graham's short ASU tenure.
- I enjoyed the back & fourth between ASU & Oregon fans this week.
- Still nothing new between the PAC-12 Netork and Directv.
- Up next? UCLA @ home next Saturday.
