Minnesota 31, Maryland 10

The Gophers went into Maryland today and came out with a 31-10 win over the Terapins.  Minnesota improves to 4-2 on the season with this win.  I know it's a homer thing to say, but they are really not that far away from being 6-0 on the season.  This win has to feel good for the Gophers, they were on the road playing with their backup QB in a B1G game against a favored team and pretty much dominated throughout.  Nice win Gophers!  Keep it going!

Observations:

• Conor Rhode did just enough to win his one.  
• KiAnte Hardin was really missed in those 3 games he was out. 
• The Gophers defense has been really good the last 2 weeks.  
• Backup quarterbacks started for both teams today.  
• Rodney Smith is a really good running back! 
• Shannon Brooks is a really good running back! 
• I really don't understand why teams use the clap snap.  
• The Gophers offensive line really struggled on pass protection. 
• What is up with all the false start penalties on the Gophers offense? 
• Turnovers:  Maryland 4, Minnesota 0
• Minnesota Offensive Play Calls:  Rushes 48, Passes 15 
• Time of Possession:  Minnesota 34:12, Maryland 25:48
• Antoine Winfield Jr is so good for a true freshman.  
• It was good to see Brandon Lingen back on the field for the Gophers. 
• That may have been Jonathan Celestin's best game as a Gopher. 
• This was a pretty ugly game to watch for both teams.  
• Minnesota offense has had a real hard time replacing K.J. Maye.  
• It was only a matter of time before Emmit Carpenter missed a FG attempt.  
• It didn't look like much of a crowd in Maryland for this one. 
• Up next?  Rutgers @ TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis next Saturday.
