Minnesota 41, Purdue 13

The Gophers went into West Lafayette today and took it to Purdue 41-13.  Minnesota improved to 4-2 on the season with this victory.  Minnesota really broke this game open in the 3rd quarter when they went on a 28-0 run.  This was easily the most impressive win by the Gophers this season, it was much need too coming off last weekend's loss to Northwestern.  They've got a tough stretch ahead of them so this win crucial too.  2 wins from bowl eligibility!  Nice win Gophers!

Observations:

• I really like the way that Shannon Brooks runs the ball. 
• Jalen Myrick really stepped up big in place of Briean Boddy-Calhoun. 
• Today was probably the best I've seen De'Vondre Campbell play.
• Tyler Moore looked really good in his first collegiate action.  
• Brandon Lingen is developing into a pretty nice Tight End.  
• I feel very confident that Eric Murray will be playing on Sundays. 
• How can you not be impressed by Steven Richardson? 
• Total Yards:  Minnesota 408, Purdue 275
• Rushing Yards:  Minnesota 326, Purdue 68
• Time of Possession:  Minnesota 36:03, Purdue 23:57
• Turnovers:  Purdue 4, Minnesota 1
• You have to like the future of the Gophers running game. 
• I have to admit, I was worried after Purdue's first possession of the game. 
• Today was the best the Gophers offensive line has played this season. 
• KJ Maye already looks to be an upgrade at punt returner. 
• Cody Poock was everywhere on defense for the Gophers. 
• Injuries are really decimating this Gophers squad.  
• Matt Leidner does have a very good nose for the end zone. 
• Why not throw the ball past the first down marker on 3rd down?
• Up next?  Nebraska @ TCF Bank Stadium next Saturday.
