Vikings 20, Lions 13

The Vikings improve to 3-1 with a 20-13 win over the Lions today in Detroit.  They played some old school football today, pound the rock, solid defense, don't turn the ball over, limit penalties, excel at special teams.  Overall, a solid (yet not a spectacular) division win on the road, I'll take it.  First place after 4 weeks, enjoy it while you can! 

Observations:

• A Viking offensive TD would have been nice. 
• A kick return and a punt return for a TD in the same game?  By different players?  Wow!
• Percy Harvin is without a doubt the Vikings MVP at the 1/4 point in the season. 
• I'm comfortable calling Blair Walsh an upgrade over Ryan Longwell.  Deep kickoffs to boot.  
• The Vikings OL & secondary are both vastly improved from last year.  
• Rookie CB Josh Robinson looks like a player.  That roughing call was B.S.
• Lions WR Calvin Johnson is just a monster.  The 'Megatron' nickname really fits him.
• The Vikings didn't take advantage of the Lions depleted secondary as much as they should have.
• Welcome back Jerome Simpson. That's how you stretch the field.
• Up next?  Tennessee Titans in Minneapolis.
