Arizona St 63, NAU 6

The Todd Graham era at ASU got off to an impressive start on Thursday night at Sun Devil Stadium with a 63-6 shellacking of NAU.  ASU totally dominated this game from the start, granted it was NAU, but NAU has played ASU tough in the past.  ASU looked fast, they looked athletic, they played hard and most importantly they played with a lot of discipline.  Color me impressed!  ASU took a lot of heat for their coaching search but they may have found the right guy afterall.

Observations:

• TPSG Game Ball goes to Todd Graham, you couldn't have asked for a better way for Graham to start his ASU tenure.  He got a lot of heat for the way he left Pitt but I have been nothing but impressed with him since he arrived in Tempe.  He has reached out to the community, he has reached out to the alumni, he has reached out to the student body and he has reached out to the fanbase, they may have found a keeper. 
• Todd Graham's 'High Octane' offense finished with a very impressive 554 yards.  Nice start!
• Forget baseball Brandon Magee, you are a football player.
• Taylor Kelly handled himself well in his first collegiate start.  He doesn't have a cannon of an arm, but he was very efficient and didn't turn the ball over (15-19 for 247 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT's).  
• Best players on the ASU side of the field for this game?  Taylor Kelly, Marion Grice, Chris Young, DJ Foster & Brandon Magee.
• Jaxon Hood & DJ Foster started as true freshmen, keep an eye on them going forward!
• DJ Foster is as good as advertised (8 carries for 67 yards, 4 catches for 32 yards, 1 TD). 
• ASU has an incredibly deep group of RB's. 
• It was good to see Deantre Lewis back on the field.
• Only 4 ASU penalties, that's a huge step in the right direction from last year's squad.  
• Only 1 ASU turnover, that got Cameron Marshall an immediate seat on the bench, I don't think that turnovers will be an issue with ASU this season. 
• Is a redshirt year in the cards for Mike Bercovici?
• Get your shit together Jamal Miles, the team needs you.

• What is the fricking hold up between the PAC-12 Network and Directv/Dish Network?  The season has started folks, get a deal done already!
