ASU falls once again, their 3rd straight loss, this time 31-27 to arch rival Arizona. This loss drops ASU to 6-5 on the season. Arizona regains the Territorial Cup. What a disappointment this season has become, it looked so promising early but ASU has just completely collapsed down the stretch. Somehow, they still have a chance to win the PAC12 South. What they need is for a 3 way tie between UCLA, ASU and Utah, that means they need to beat Cal next week, Utah needs to beat Colorado and USC needs to beat UCLA (all 3 are very much possible, although the way ASU is playing I wouldn't count on it). If UCLA beats USC they win the PAC12 South. There is no scenario in which Utah can win it. If ASU loses to Cal, I suspect that Dennis Erickson could be out of a job (he may be out of a job even if they beat Cal).
Observations:
-ASU came out really flat for such a big rivalry game.
-ASU has 24 seniors on their roster, you'd think they'd play with more composure.
-Gerell Robinson's NFL stock has to be rising. He's now over 1000 yards receiving for the season (he had 11 catches for 199 yards & 1 TD tonight).
-UA WR Juron Criner had a nice game too (9 catches for 134 yards, 1 TD)
-Have you see the anti-UA t-shirt? I kinda like it.
-Still no word on who will be coaching UA next year. I vote Mike Leach.
-I suspect Nick Foles will get an NFL shot next year, he's a pretty good QB.
-When did Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline" become such a staple in college football?
-UA now leads the overall ASU/UA series 47-37-1.
-ASU closes out their regular season next week @ home against California.
