  1. The Departed - Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson
  2. Casino Royale - Daniel Craig, Judy Dench
  3. Children of Men - Clive Owen, Julianne Moore
  4. Borat - Sacha Baron Cohen, Ken Davitian
  5. Babel - Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett
  6. United 93 - David Alan Basche, Khalid Abdalla

  8. Little Miss Sunshine - Greg Kinear, Alan Arkin
  9. Apocalypto - Rudy Youngblood, Raoul Trujillo
  10. Mission:  Impossible III - Tom Cruise, Philip Seymour Hoffman
"The Departed" was hands down the best film of 2006, great story, powerhouse cast, arguably the best director ever, I cannot recommend it higher.   Daniel Craig does a terrific job of re-energizing the James Bond series in "Casino Royale".  "Children of Men" is a harrowing look at the future.  "Borat" is one of the funniest movies that I've ever seen.  "Babel" does a masterful job of interlocking four distinct stories together into a tragic finale.  "United 93" is the story of the 9/11 attacks on the U.S., it's hard to watch but very well done, everyone should watch it.  I may not agree with Clint Eastwood's politics but the man is a tremendous filmmaker, "Letters From Iwo Jima" and "Flags Of Our Fathers" are 2 great movies about the Battle of Iwo Jima ("Letters From Iwo Jima" from the Japanese perspective, and "Flags of our Fathers" from the U.S. perspective). "Little Miss Sunshine" is a fun, quirky movie that follows the travails of the Hoover family as they take a road trip to California.  "Apacalypto" is a violent, brutal look at the Mayan culture, you won't be able to turn away.   I've been a big fan of all of the MI movies, no they aren't award winning films, but they are all highly entertaining, give "Mission:  Impossible III" a watch, you won't be disappointed.
