I've been posting Top 10 Movies lists since 2010 but since I didn't start my blog until 2010 I haven't had the opportunity to post my lists for the years prior to 2010. I thought that it might be fun to do so, so here goes, starting with 2009:
TPSG Top 10 Movies of 2009:
- The Hangover - Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zack Galifianakis
- The Hurt Locker - Jeremy Renner
- Inglorious Basterds - Christoph Waltz, Brad Pitt
- Avatar - Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana
- District 9 - Sharlto Copley, Jason Cope
- Sin Nombre - Edgar Flores, Paulina Gaitán
- Up in the Air - George Clooney, Anna Kendrick
- Star Trek - Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto
- Crazy Heart - Jeff Bridges, Maggie Gyllenhaal
- The Blind Side - Sandra Bullock
2009 was a great year for the movies. "
The Hangover" is one of the funniest movies ever, it had to be on top of my list. "
The Hurt Locker" was edge of your seat tense. Quentin Tarantino hit another home run with "
Inglorious Basterds". Christoph Waltz's
Oscar in that film was well deserved. James Cameron's filmmaking in "
Avatar" was groundbreaking. "
District 9" was another bit of revolutionary filmmaking for it's use of Red One digital cameras. "
Sin Nombre" was a terrifying look at the Central American street gang culture. "
Up in the Air" is a film that perfectly tells the story of the economic impact of the greatest recession of our times. "
Star Trek" was a great re-telling of the Star Trek franchise by J.J. Abrams, it was fast paced and action packed from start to finish. Jeff Bridges was fantastic in "
Crazy Heart" and who doesn't love a great football movie (i.e. "
The Blind Side").
