Post Election Thoughts?

Barack Obama wins!  Thank God!  I predict that historians are going to look back at President Obama's first term very favorably.   No doubt there were some rough spots along the way but considering where he started and considering the opposition he faced, he has done a remarkable job.  Hopefully, he will face less opposition going forward and congress will decide that it's time to start governing again and his second term will run smoother.

Moderation wins?   Todd Akin, Richard Mourdock, Allen West, Joe Walsh and Joe "The Plumber" Wurzelbacher all lost.  Michele Bachmann narrowly squeaked out a win.  I think America is tiring of the right wing zealots.

Status Quo wins?  6+ billion dollars were spent on this election and we have essentially the same make up of Washington as before, Democratic President & Senate, Republican House. Some people may not be real pleased with the return on their investments.

Welcome aboard!  Good to see Tim Kaine & Elizabeth Warren joining the Senate, good to see Alan Grayson rejoin U.S. House.  I'm a big fan of all, the democrats need their strong voices in Washington.

Arizona stays red.  Romney, Flake, Arpaio all win.  C'mon Hispanics, get out and vote already.  Thank God for Kyrsten Sinema.  I was a bit perturbed at some of the shenanigans taking place at the polling stations, why is everyone so afraid of letting people vote?

Nate Silver is the man.   If the GOP wants to regain the Presidency they need to move to the middle.  Hillary Clinton vs Jeb Bush in 2016?   Hopefully, people stop taking George Will so seriously.  Speaking of which, isn't it time people stop listening to Dick Morris?   Republicans should be rejoicing that they don't have to be running Mitt Romney again in 2016.  Something has to be done before 2016 about all the voter suppression tactics that we saw this year.
