TPSG 2013 NFL Mock Draft 3.0

Now that NFL free agency has shaken out a bit, I thought that it would be a good time to update my NFL Mock Draft, so here goes, version 3.0:
  1. Kansas City Chiefs - Luke Joekel - OT - Texas A&M
  2. Jacksonville Jaguars - Jarvis Jones - OLB - Georgia
  3. Oakland Raiders - Sharrif Floyd - DT - Florida
  4. Philadelphia Eagles - Dee Milliner - CB - Alabama
  5. Detroit Lions - Dion Jordan - DE - Oregon

  7. Arizona Cardinals - Eric Fisher - OT - Central Michigan
  8. Buffalo Bills - Geno Smith - QB - West Virginia
  9. New York Jets - Ezekiel Ansah - DE - BYU
  10. Tennessee Titans - Chance Warmack - OG - Alabama

  23. Minnesota Vikings - Desmond Trufant - CB - Washington
  24. Indianapolis Colts - Datone Jones - DE - UCLA
  25. Minnesota Vikings - Arthur Brown - LB- Kansas State
  26. Green Bay Packers - Eddie Lacey - RB - Alabama
  27. Houston Texans - Keenan Allen - WR - California
  28. Danver Broncos - Sylvester Williams - DT - North Carolina
  29. New England Patriots - Tavon Austin - WR - West Virginia
  30. Atlanta Falcons - Zach Ertz - TE - Stanford
  31. San Francisco 49ers - Kawann Short - DT - Purdue
  32. Baltimore Ravens - Eric Reid - S - LSU
Notes:
  • The strength of round 1 is OL, I suspect that the Chiefs take the best OL available, there is some debate on whether that is Joekel or Fisher, but considering the level of competition that he played against, I give the vote to Joekel.
  • I'm sticking with my Jarvis Jones selection for the Jaguars, he would be a perfect fit in Gus Bradley's new defense and I think his health concerns are being over played.  I'm also not buying into the Geno Smith interest here, I think it's a smokescreen, I think they are trying to generate some interest in the number 2 pick in attempt to entice someone into making an RGIII type of deal.  Eric Fisher may also be a possibility for them at number 2.
  • With Carson Palmer still being on the Raiders roster, I don't see Geno Smith going there.  If Palmer is released that could change though.
  • With the Eagles cutting ties with Nnamdi Asomugha & Dominqiue Rodgers-Cromartie,  Dee Milliner seems like a logical pick for them.
  • Even without Cliff Avril signing with Seattle, I suspected that the Lions would go DE, I still do.  Dion Jordan has some Aldon Smith in him, I suspect he winds up in Detroit.  Ansah is another possibility.
  • The Browns need an outside pass rusher to fit Ray Horton's defense, Mingo, Ansah or Jordan would be a good fit at number 6.
  • With Kevin Kolb being released, the Cardinals could really use a QB, I just don't see them valuing Geno Smith as the 7th best player in the draft though.  I'm guessing they go OL and then draft a QB somewhere in rounds 2-3 (maybe Matt Barkley, Tyler Bray, E.J. Manuel or Mike Glennon).
  • With the trade of Percy Harvin to Seattle, the Vikings now have picks number 23 & 25 of round 1.  They have plenty of needs, they could use help at WR, DT, LB, CB & OG.  With the release of Antoine Winfield I suspect that CB may have moved to the top of their wish list, if Xavier Rhodes or Desmond Trufant fall to them, either would be hard to pass on (although the same could also be said of OG's Chance Warmack & Jonathan Cooper, if they inexplicably fall into the Vikings lap). With no MLB and little cash remaining to spend on free agency a MLB also makes sense.  I would look for a WR & DT in rounds 2-4.
  • With the Packers failure to sign Steven Jackson, Eddie Lacey seems like a logical pick for them.
  • Previous Mocks:  Version 1.0, Version 2.0
