Election Day

It's finally here, please let your voice be heard and vote!

If you don't know where to vote, Google has made it really easy for you.

It really irks me when people tell me they didn't vote and that their vote didn't count.  Every vote does count and you can make a difference.  Do you really want to let other people dictate your government?   Vote already!   And do me a favor and please vote every chance you get, voting once every four year doesn't help much.

It should be no secret by now but I strongly endorse Hillary Clinton for President.  Don't believe the hype that we are stuck with 2 horrible candidates either, Hillary Clinton is highly qualified for the highest position in the land and is very deserving of your vote.  Donald Trump on the other hand would be an unmitigated disaster.

In Arizona, it's also time to send the likes of John McCain and Joe Arpaio off into the sunset.  McCain is no longer the maverick that he once was, he's become a war monger and obstructionist, he has become a big part of the problem in Washington and needs to be replaced.  Ann Kirkpatrick would be a highly competent replacement for him.  Joe Arpaio was always more about getting his face on the television than in protecting the people of Maricopa County, his tenure as Sheriff has been nothing but divisive and expensive and it's time he go too.  Paul Penzone is a longtime lawman and would make a fine Sheriff.  You can find more Arizona election coverage here.

Since I'm on the topic of election day, isn't it about time we made it easier for people to vote?  Too many states want to make it harder, especially for those who traditionally don't vote as they would like.  Is that really the kind of government that you want?  That doesn't sound like Representative government, that sounds more like a dictatorship.  Shouldn't the goal be for as many people as a possible to vote?   Let's reinstate the Voting Rights Act, let's make election day a national holiday, let's allow people to vote by mail, let's allow for same day voter registration, let's implement automatic voter registration, let's increase early voting, let's increase the number of polling places.  We can do better.
