Vikings 23, Bears 20

The Vikings squeaked out a 23-20 OT win over the Bears today in Minneapolis.  With this win the Vikings improve to 3-8-1 on the season.  Give the Vikings some credit, they didn't quit, they were down 20-10 in the 4th quarter before pulling even and eventually winning it in OT.  The big advantage of playing down the stretch when you have no shot at the playoffs is that you take a few more chances than normal and the Vikings did just that.  I'm guessing it's still too little, a little too late, for Leslie Frazier to save his job, but it doesn't at least make for some entertaining football. 

Observations:

• I hate to admit it, but I would have rather had a close loss.  
• 211 yards rushing for Adrian Peterson.  He also passed the 10K career rushing mark. 
• Xavier Rhodes continues to shine in man-to-man coverage, ditch the cover-2. 
• Cordarrelle Patterson seemed to be channeling Percy Harvin on that TD run.
• You've got to love that Matt Cassel mustache.  
• Matt Cassel > Christian Ponder.  Yet another reason that Leslie Frazier must go. 
• Another solid game from Audie Cole.  He's much cheaper than Erin Henderson too.  
• Andrew Sendajo continues to show that he belongs, he hits like a Mack Truck. 
• It was a tough day for Rhett Ellison.
• Jerome Simpson has had a quality season on the field.  
• That TD catch by Alshon Jeffrey was as good as you're going to see.  
• Monster game by Jeffrey by-the-way.  12 catches, 249 yards, 2 TD's. 
• This loss sure won't help the Bears playoff hopes.  So sad.  
• Up next?  @ Baltimore to take on the Ravens next Sunday.
