TPSG NFL Awards

Most Valuable Player - Aaron Rodgers, Packers
Aaron Rodgers is easily the best player on the best team, he get's the nod here.  Rodgers had an NFL high QB percentage and his 45-6 TD to INT ratio is just remarkable.  Drew Brees is my runner up.

Offensive Player of the Year - Drew Brees, Saints
I know I picked Rodgers as the MVP but I think Brees may have had a better year statistically, if not one of the best years ever for an NFL QB.  He broke the NFL record for passing yards in a season and he did while breaking the NFL record for single season completion percentage.  He also led the NFL in TD passes. Rodgers would be my runner up.

Defensive Player of the Year - Jared Allen, Vikings
If this was the defensive MVP Award I'd go with someone on a winning team and the edge then would go to Terrell Suggs of the Ravens but since it's the Defensive Player of the Year Award, how can you not give it to Jared Allen of the Vikings, he had 22 sacks, that ties him with Mark Gastineau for the second best total in NFL history (take away the cheap sack Michael Strahan had on Brett Favre and it would have been a record tying season).

Rookie of the Year - Cam Newton, Panthers
Cam Newton had perhaps the best rookie year ever.  He passed Peyton Manning for the most passing yards ever by a rookie.  He finished the year with 4,051 yards passing with 21 passing TD's (plus he had 706 yards rushing and 14 rushing TD's).   Aldon Smith of the 49ers, Von Miller of the Broncos and Andy Dalton of the Bengals also had nice rookie seasons.

Coach of the Year - Jim Harbaugh, 49ers
Harbaugh took a 6-10 team that had failed to make the playoffs in 9 straight seasons and turned them into a 13-3 team that had the second best record in the NFC.  Mike McCarthy of the Packers and Bill Belichick of the Patriots would be 2nd and 3rd in my book.
