Vikings knock off the Panthers 24-21 today in Charlotte in the battle of rookie QB's. The Vikings move to 2-6 on the season. The whole offense just looks so much more cohesive with Christian Ponder at QB than it did with Donovan McNabb, he's still got some growing to do and they do need to get better around him (they could use a LT and a #1 WR) but I like what I've seen of him in his 2 starts to date.
Observations:
-First career win for Christian Ponder as starting QB in NFL.
-You have to be impressed with Cam Newton. Newton > Ponder IMO.
-Is Jared Allen the mid season defensive player of the year??? He's got my vote. 5 tackles, 1 sack, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery today.
-There can really be no question that Adrian Peterson is the best RB in the NFL can there? 86 yards rushing + 76 yards recieving + 1 TD today.
-Hurry up and get healthy Antoine Winfield.
-Erin Henderson stood out to me today for the first time. He outplayed his brother today.
-13 tackles for Chad Greenway today, he played a very nice game.
-Ed Hockuli has got some guns.
-Viking draft/offseason needs? LT (& OL in general), WR, DB/CB, LB.
-Up next is the Packers in 2 weeks on Monday Night Footb
