The Vikings fall to the Bears 39-10 in prime time tonight. They really stunk up the joint, it was easily their least impressive showing of the season. This loss drops the Vikings to 1-5 on the season, no team has ever started 1-5 on the season and made the playoffs, I highly doubt that the Vikings will be the exception to that trend. I would think that this loss would signal that it's time to make a few changes, specifically at the QB position, I think that it may be time to start the Christian Ponder era.
Observations:
-Play 8 in the box, stop the run, make the Vikings pass, it's a pretty simple formula to beat the Vikings at this point.
-Not a lot of fire in the Vikings tonight.
-I'm ready to see Christian Ponder as the starter at QB, I don't see the point of continuing to play Donovan McNabb at this point. Ponder got some time in tonight and looked good, he was poised, he moved around well in the pocket and did a much better job of eluding that pass rush than McNabb.
-CB Cedric Griffin may be ready for a lesser role also, he struggled once again.
-Where for art though Kevin Williams?
-The Vikings really need to start stretching the field some.
-The Vikings HAVE GOT to get better on 3rd down.
-The Vikings Special Teams got their asses handed to them tonight.
-Leslie Frazier has yet to impress. Bill Cowher is still out there. Just saying.
-Up next are the Packers @ Mall of America Field in Minneapolis, MN.
