Obviously, this list is only looking at those athletes who play professionally for Arizona sports teams, not those from the state who are playing elsewhere. Paul Goldschmidt is clearly the gold standard at this point in Arizona sports, he's just a phenomenal talent. Shane Doan doesn't get the attention he deserves playing in the wasteland that in professional hockey in Arizona. Patrick Peterson had a down year last year and is still ranked at the 19th best player in football by NFL.com. Brittany Griner is single handedly changing the WNBA. Eric Bledsoe has all the talent in the world, if he can stay healthy and clean up his act off the court, he can be an All Star. Oliver Ekman-Larsson is another highly underrated player, he also doesn't get the attention he deserves playing in Arizona. Calais Campbell is the only other Cardinal player ranked among the Top 100 players by NFL.com. Larry Fitzgerald is a legend in Arizona, enough said. Diana Taurasi would be higher if she wasn't sitting out the season. A.J. Pollack has clearly been the Diamondbacks second best player this season, I like his future in Arizona.
