T-Paw Out

Just as I predicted yesterday, the 2012 GOP Presidential candidates are starting to thin out.  Former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty announced today that he will be dropping out of the race after his 3rd place finish in yesterdays Iowa Straw Poll.   He just never generated much passion or excitement amongst the far right base and undoubtedly saw the writing on the wall.  That really should be more of an indictment of the far right than a knock against Pawlenty as I'm guessing he'd have a much better chance in a general election against Obama than many of the top GOP contenders.  Anyways, I'm guessing he may now start trying to position himself for the Vice Presidential slot.  Speaking of which, the VP candidate names I've seen thrown out there have been much more impressive than the Presidential candidates IMO (David Petraeus, Jon Kyle, Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush to name a few).
