GOP Medicare Plan

It's time I chime in on the GOP Medicare Plan.  First of all, I must say, it sickens me that the GOP wants to fix the deficit problem that they created with their tax cuts for the wealthy by punishing the middle and lower income classes.  Now on to the plan, it's essentially a $15,000/year voucher system for seniors?  That's the plan?  Really.  What if their medical expenses go over that amount you ask (as is apt to happen as you get older)?  Bankruptcy perhaps?  Lack of care?  Go without?  C'mon, let's get real here, is that what we really want for our elderly?  Then to try to sell it to seniors by saying that you won't be effected if you are already 55 and over.  Really?  Do you really think seniors are so short sighted as to sell out the rest of us because they "got theirs"?  Seniors aren't that stupid.  You want a simple solution?  How about lifting the cap on income subject to Medicare taxes beyond the current $106K, that alone will make Medicare fully funded forever (same with Social Security for that matter, raise the cap on income subject to SSI taxes beyond current $106K and SSI is fully-funded forever).  You don't like that idea?   There are lots of smart people who surely can come up with a better idea than a $15,000/year voucher system.  Time to start over GOP and you'd better move fast because this plan is not popular and will surely sink you come election time.
