The NBA Draft is tonigh, so I thought that it would be a good time to post one final mock draft.   No major changes from Mock 1.0 or 2.0.  Here goes:

  24. Philadelphia 76ers - Demetrius Jackson - PG - Notre Dame
  25. Los Angeles Clippers - DeAndre' Bembry - SF - St. Josephs
  26. Philadelphia 76ers - Cheick Diallo - PF - Kansas
  27. Toronto Raptors - Thon Maker - PF - Australia
  28. Phoenix Suns - Juan Hermangomez - PF - Spain
  29. San Antonio Spurs - Damian Jones - PF - Vanderbilt
  30. Golden State Warriors - Diamond Stone - C - Maryland
It appears all but certain that Ben Simmons will be going first overall.

The Lakers have been making some noise about picking someone other than Brandon Ingram, but I doubt that happens, he's clearly the second best player available in this draft, I look for him to be a Laker.

The third pick is where the draft will get interesting, nobody seems to have a read on who the Celtics will pick.  They are guard heavy so Chriss, Bender or Brown makes sense, but all the steam seems to be pointing to Kris Dunn (although he may not stay with the Celtics).

All signs seem to be pointing towards Marquese Chriss to the Suns at pick number 4, his upside is very high and he fills a need.  I suspect they will consider Dragan Bender here too.  I wouldn't rule out a trade either if someone makes the right offer.

The Timberwolves have only 3 guards under contract so I'm suspecting they go that direction.  I know they like Kris Dunn, but it's looking like he may be gone.  If so, I suspect that they'll be deciding between Jamal Murray and Buddy Hield at pick number 5.  I'm guessing Murray's age and versatility will probably give him the edge.  Dragan Bender would be hard to pass on though.

If the draft shakes out like I suspect, look for the Suns to target a wing or a point guard at number 13.  IMO, Timothe Luwawu would be a nice compliment to Marquese Chriss.  Wade Baldwin & Furkan Korkmaz are probably in play too.

At 28, I'm guessing the Suns either draft a foreign player who they could stash overseas for a season or two or perhaps trade (perhaps packaging it with their second round pick).
