Ohio State knocked off Oregon 42-20 tonight to win the NCAA Football Championship. It was a pretty impressive performance by the Buckeyes, even more so considering that they were playing with their 3rd string quarterback. Ohio State really looked the part, they're big, they're fast, they're athletic, they're physical, they're deep, they're well coached, they're very deserving of this championship! Hats of to Ohio State!
Observations:
- Cardale Jones is a monster with an absolute cannon of an arm.
- I wasn't a fan of that 2nd quarter, 4th & goal attempt by Oregon, take the points.
- Ohio State was much better in the trenches on both sides of the ball.
- I'd be leery of drafting Marcus Mariotta early in the NFL draft. System QB.
- Ezekiel Elliott is a pretty impressive looking RB for Ohio State.
- Mark Helfrich is no Urban Meyer. Not many are though.
- I'm really not a fan of these gimmicky no huddle offenses.
- Remember when people said it was a down year for the Big Ten?
- Is there a better deep threat in college football than Ohio State WR Devin Smith?
- Turnovers: Ohio State 4, Oregon 1
- It'll be interesting to see how the Ohio State quarterback situation shakes out.
- Why doesn't an NFL team look into hiring Urban Meyer as head coach?
- Doppelganger central: Ref & Bob Newhart, Cardale Jones & Jameis Winston.
- I'll bet that Darren Carrington could have helped Oregon tonight.
- Minnesota played Ohio State tougher than Oregon did.
- I'm beyond happy that there was no SEC team in this game.
- These premature celebrations are getting out of hand. Cross that goal line!
- I would have preferred that Ohio State took a knee to scoring that late TD.
- Did we really need 12 ways to watch this game?
- Count me as a fan of this 4 team NCAA football playoff system.
- I wasn't blown away by that Lady Antebellum national anthem.
- Next year? The game is at Glendale's University of Phoenix Stadium!
