Donald Trump wins the Presidency, Republicans remain in control of the House and Senate and thus the Supreme Court. I have a terrible feeling that this is not going to end well for America. God help us all. It may be time to end the Electoral College.

Election Day
It's finally here, please let your voice be heard and vote!
If you don't know where to vote, Google has made it really easy for you.
It really irks me when people tell me they didn't vote and that their vote didn't count. Every vote does count and you can make a difference. Do you really want to let other people dictate your government? Vote already! And do me a favor and please vote every chance you get, voting once every four year doesn't help much.
It should be no secret by now but I strongly endorse Hillary Clinton for President. Don't believe the hype that we are stuck with 2 horrible candidates either, Hillary Clinton is highly qualified for the highest position in the land and is very deserving of your vote. Donald Trump on the other hand would be an unmitigated disaster.
In Arizona, it's also time to send the likes of John McCain and Joe Arpaio off into the sunset. McCain is no longer the maverick that he once was, he's become a war monger and obstructionist, he has become a big part of the problem in Washington and needs to be replaced. Ann Kirkpatrick would be a highly competent replacement for him. Joe Arpaio was always more about getting his face on the television than in protecting the people of Maricopa County, his tenure as Sheriff has been nothing but divisive and expensive and it's time he go too. Paul Penzone is a longtime lawman and would make a fine Sheriff. You can find more Arizona election coverage here.
Since I'm on the topic of election day, isn't it about time we made it easier for people to vote? Too many states want to make it harder, especially for those who traditionally don't vote as they would like. Is that really the kind of government that you want? That doesn't sound like Representative government, that sounds more like a dictatorship. Shouldn't the goal be for as many people as a possible to vote? Let's reinstate the Voting Rights Act, let's make election day a national holiday, let's allow people to vote by mail, let's allow for same day voter registration, let's implement automatic voter registration, let's increase early voting, let's increase the number of polling places. We can do better.

The Case For Hillary Clinton
Tomorrow is election day. The case for Hillary Clinton seems like a rather clear choice to me:
- She's one of the most qualified Presidential candidates ever.
- She would shift the Supreme Court left for the first time in 40+ years.
- She wants to increase the minimum wage.
- She will push for common sense gun laws.
- She believes in man made climate change and would fight to combat it.
- She believes in building the economy from the middle out, not the top down.
- She would be a steady hand on foreign policy.
- She wants to expand social security and Medicare.
- She wants to make it easier to vote not harder.
- She will push for a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United.
- The economy almost always performs better under a Democratic President.
- Her grasp of the issues far exceeds that of her opponent.
- She will hold Wall Street responsible for their actions.
- The African American community overwhelmingly supports her.
- Barack Obama, Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren have all endorsed her.
- She supports paid medical and family leave programs.
- She supports debt free college education.
- She won all 3 of the Presidential debates.
- She is a strong supporter of Net Neutrality.
- She has vowed to fight for criminal justice reform.
- She supports the Dream Act.
- The Asian American community supports her.
- She is a strong proponent of clean energy.
- She wants to fix Obamacare, not gut it.
- She would continue to fight for LBGT rights.
- She has a long history of being a progressive Democrat.
- She has the support of lots of fair minded Republicans.
- Abortions typically drops under Democratic Presidents.
- Bernie Sanders would potentially head the Senate Budget Committee.
- She would have veto power over any possible Republican majority.
- She provides a pathway to citizenship for millions of immigrants.
- Thirty years of attacks on her character have yielded nothing.
- The national media overwhelmingly supports her over her opponent.
- She is ardently pro-choice and would continue to fund Planned Parenthood.
- Her Vice Presidential pick is highly qualified.
- She has been fighting for women and children her whole life.
- We are long overdue for the first female President.
- She is not Donald Trump.
The Case Against Donald Trump
Election day is tomorrow. Here my case against Donald Trump. It's a long list:
- He may not accept the results of the election.

Lions 23, Vikings 16
The Vikings fell at home 23-16 in OT today to the Detroit Lions. After starting the season 5-0, they are now sitting at 5-3 at the halfway point of the season. This was another winnable game that they let slip away, they were done in by a missed extra point, a blocked field goal and the inability to take advantage of red zone opportunities. The defense couldn't get off the field on third down in OT either. Unless they can get their offense sorted out, they are going to be playing a lot of close games down the stretch. I'm so disappointed in this team after that fantastic start to the season they had.
Observations:
- You really shouldn't lose when you lead with 27 seconds to play.
- How did the Vikings get no points off that Chad Greenway interception?
- I wouldn't be surprised if this was the last of Blair Walsh in a Vikings uniform.
- The Vikings defense played well enough to win this one.
- It's nice to see Cordarrelle Patterson being used more on offense.
- It looks like Pat Shurmur will rely on shorter quicker developing pass routes.
- The margin for error for the Vikings offense is very small.
- Sam Bradford's stats look better than they appeared on the field.
- That late timeout by Mike Zimmer is not looking so good in retrospect.
- Horrible officiating may be playing some part in the NFL's dropping TV ratings.
- When Alex Boone is healthy, Jeremiah Sirles should replace T.J. Clemmings at OT.
- 13 catches out of Stefon Diggs was nice, but he wasn't stretching the field.
- I detest the Prevent Defense, it should be banished from the playbook.
- Your defense has got to get off the field on third down.
- I like the look of Linval Joseph at fullback!
- Trea Waynes has improved a lot since his rookie year.
- I cannot believe that I'm longing for the days of Matt Kalil and Andre Smith.
- If you can't make a first down on 4th and inches you probably deserve to lose.
- It was nice to see Laquon Treadwell finally catch a pass.
- Up next? Next Sunday @ Washington Redskins.

Minnesota 44, Purdue 31
The Gophers knocked off Purdue 44-31 today in Minneapolis. Minnesota improves to 7-2 on the season with this win (and 4-2 in the conference). They are beating the teams they are suppose to beat, they may not look pretty doing so but they are raking up the wins. A ranking can't be far away at this point. The next 3 games (@ Nebraska, home against Northwestern and @ Wiscsonsin) will really answer the questions about what type of football team this Gopher team is. It should be an interesting finish to the season for the Gophers.
Observations:
Observations:
- Yet another big game from Rodney Smith. It's getting commonplace.
- Those big plays early by Purdue were just killing the Gophers.
- The Gophers defense really toughened up in the second half.
- I liked that the Gophers threw deep to start the game.
- Don't tell me that Emmit Carpenter can't hit the deep field goal.
- Duke McGhee may be the most underrated Gopher player this season.
- For a 5th year senior QB, Mitch Leidner's throwing mechanics are horrible.
- It was nice to see Eric Carter out there contributing again.
- Second Half scoring: Minnesota 21, Purdue 3
- Turnovers: Purdue 3, Minnesota 1
- Rushing Yards: Minnesota 235, Purdue 23
- It was nice to see Blake Cashman get some meaningful playing time.
- Lots of good intentions with the targeting rule but I really don't like it.
- Why were the Gophers throwing the football at the end of the first half?
- Running Leidner is much better than throwing Leidner.
- It's not often that the Gophers win 4 conference games in a row.
- Purdue obviously was playing with nothing to lose.
- Let's hope that P.J. Fleck doesn't wind up at Purdue.
- This was the definition of a trap game for the Gophers.
- Up next? @ Nebraska next Saturday night.

2016 Presidential Endorsements
As we close in on the 2016 U.S. Presidential election, I thought that it would be a good time to post an updated list of the 2016 Presidential endorsements from prominent newspapers, websites and magazines. As you can see, it's pretty lopsided in favor or Hillary Clinton. If you have a discerning mind, that should tell you a great deal.
For Hillary Clinton:

For Gary Johnson:
- The Chicago Tribune

Here a several trends that I noticed:
- There were very few major media endorsements for Donald Trump, that's telling.
- Several right wing leaning publications coped out and endorsed Gary Johnson in an attempt to distance themselves from Donald Trump while at the same time not endorsing Hillary Clinton. I have to believe that deep down they also know that Gary Johnson has no business in the White House.
- Several publications also coped out by not endorsing anyone or specifically endorsing against one candidate (namely Donald Trump) but not taking a stand and then endorsing any other candidate. Weak.
- The Las Vegas Review Journal is the largest newspaper to endorse Donald Trump, but keep in mind, The Las Vegas Review Journal is owned by right wingnut Sheldon Adelson.
- The Crusader is the official newspaper of the KKK, they think Donald Trump would make a great President.
- Wikipedia has a great list here.

If this doesn't concern you about Donald Trump, nothing will.
